We Need Your Feedback
There has been great number of responses to our questionnaire, but we would like even more. The Imperative of Learning
The Imperative of Learning event on October 26th, moderated by Alexa McDonough, sparked a lot of interest in lifelong learning. Panelists Ray Ivany, Catherine Woodman and Fred Morley spoke of their beliefs and perceptions of the need for lifelong learning and all identified learning as a key factor in improving our economy and our communities. They also identified some things that need to change. Following their presentations the hundred participants wereasked to brainstorm and identify what needs to happen for their ideas to move forward. At the end of the morning, almost 70 participants expressed an interest in continuing the discussion. The panelist’s presentations was broadcast on Eastlink Podium Television on in November and available in our parts of the province by request.
The December 2nd , 2009 follow-up meeting was based on the October 26th discussions, and the work of MCCE, we would like to continue the discussion in the new year to propose some feasible opportunities to move forward.
In particular, we feel there is a need to focus on how we can promote learning and help learners province-wide readily access learning opportunities. We also believe there is a need to bring people together to better understand learning needs and to explore solutions, which may mean greater collaboration and sharing of resources and knowledge.
